Why Choose SFU
Not only the spectacular views and central location, but the winning combination of low tuition fees, well established academic programs and new facilities make Simon Fraser University one of the top ranked places to be.

Low Tuition Fees
SFU is one of the few Canadian Universities to offer low tuition for graduate programs. By not charging international student fees, there is a dynamic culture of diversity and world knowledge at the university.
An added bonus is the UPass - a very cheap transit plan that gives students four months of unlimited transit for roughly a hundred dollars.

Established Academic Programs
Established strengths in the applied sciences - from communication and kinesiology to computing and engineering science - the
university is known for its programs in education and business administration. Simon Fraser University is one of the few that offers a trimester system where students can start in Spring, Summer or Fall.
Location, Location, Location
On a clear day, you can see Vancouver Island to the south and into the B.C. Coastal Mountain range to the north of the Burnaby Campus. The Burnaby campus alone offers hiking trails at its doorstep, but is still within close proximity to downtown Vancouver. Only a few Canadian Universities can offer the perfect location year round; Vancouver's seawall and beaches in the summer and a close drive to Whistler Village and surrounding ski mountains in the winter.

New Facilities & Buildings
Construction is underway on $71.5 million School for Contemporary Arts which includes gallery, multimedia centre and teaching studios.
The $56.9 million Blusson Hall opened in 2008, providing a new home for

students.
The $34 million Arts and Social Sciences Complex opened in 2007 with a
new Centre for Forensic Research that is equipped with state of a the
art lab spaces, including autopsy room, DNA, crime and imaging labs.
The new Technology and Science Complex, completed in 2005, allows SFU to accomodate twice the number of students.
The downtown Vancouver campus serves roughly 10,000 students and includes the Morris J. Wosk Centre for Dialogue - a magnificant conference facility used by university, local and government groups.
Also in the downtown core, the Segal Graduate School of Business gives students the opportunity to mix with scholars and business and industry leaders for a unique series of graduate programs.
