Welcome to SFU’s Teaching and Learning Centre! Faculty members, instructors, students, staff and administrators have all made positive contributions to teaching and learning at Simon Fraser University. A central role for the teaching and learning centre is to support your dedication to excellence in teaching and students’ experiences. Thus, it is a privilege for me to work with you during an exciting time of transitioning as the new Teaching and Learning Centre’s Interim Director. The Teaching and Learning Centre will be redefining itself over the next several months. During this period of redevelopment we are re-examining our practice, approach, programming and roles. Building on our strengths and our new mandate as our guide, our focus is to align the TLC with institutional directions and assist SFU instructors. To do so, we continue to explore partnerships with the Faculties, departments, programs and other service units. Staff at the Centre will also continue work on existing educational projects, creative media services and educational consultation. Updates on our progress will appear on our website, which will also undergo redesign over the next several months. Please contact us with your questions and ideas. On behalf of all of us at the Teaching and Learning Centre, we look forward to working in close collaboration and partnership with community members who are interested in or support the enhancement of teaching and learning at SFU.
